Welcome to THE HUNGER GAMES MUSIC PROJECT, a website for the unofficial scores created by film composers Edward Underhill and Matt Bukaty. Here you can listen to the most recent album release, read about the project, learn where to find the tunes, and find out more about the composers.
What is this project?
"The Hunger Games Music Project" (aka "The HG Music Project") is a series of unofficial scores, composed by Edward Underhill and Matt Bukaty, for Suzanne Collins's best-selling (and incredibly moving) Hunger Games trilogy. In August, 2011, Ed and Matt released their first album, The HG Music Project, inspired by The Hunger Games. Now, a year later, they are releasing The HG Music Project, Volume II: Resistance, inspired by Catching Fire!
Over a year ago, Ed and Matt discovered they were each independently scheming about what the musical universe of The Hunger Games might sound like, and decided a collaboration was in order. The results are the soundtracks you find here. This music is not associated with the recent Lionsgate adaptations in any way - it is merely our vision of what a score for the books might sound like. The music is all original, created with the assistance of computer software typically used in film scoring combined with live performances by an ever-increasing number of talented musicians.
